This website and the channel
This website is where Certified Pack Addicts introduces itself and publishes the Certified Pack Addicts Journal. It has no checkout, accounts or orders. CPA’s channel is on Whatnot: shows, listings and any purchases happen there, under Whatnot’s terms and each listing’s own details.
Whatnot is a separate company. It doesn’t own, endorse or sponsor Certified Pack Addicts, and CPA doesn’t speak for Whatnot. Where this page explains how the platform works, it links to Whatnot’s own help pages.
Find the right profile
CPA’s Whatnot username is certifiedpackaddicts. Every channel link on this website goes to that one profile. If you look us up on Whatnot instead, its search can find a seller by name; check that the username matches exactly before you follow.
Follow the channel, bookmark a show
Following the profile puts CPA’s upcoming and live shows in your Following feed, and Whatnot can notify you when a seller you follow starts a show. A bookmark works on one show instead: you get a reminder when that show starts, even if you don’t follow the seller. Whatnot’s help pages on following someone and bookmarking a show cover both.
No alert? Notifications depend on your device settings, your Whatnot notification settings and the bell on the seller’s profile. Our guide on how to follow Certified Pack Addicts on Whatnot walks through each check.
See current and upcoming shows
When CPA schedules a show, it’s listed on the certifiedpackaddicts profile on Whatnot. The profile is the place to check dates, times and what each show includes; this website doesn’t track show status. If nothing is scheduled yet, follow the profile so you hear about the next one.
Each show has its own link. It opens in the Whatnot app if you have it, or on whatnot.com in your browser, where you can sign up or log in to take part (see Whatnot’s help page on sharing a show).
Read the show listing before you join
Every show and listing explains its own details, and those details are what count. This website doesn’t publish CPA show formats or prices. Before you bid or buy, check:
- What is being opened, and exactly what you would receive.
- The sales format: an auction or a fixed-price Buy It Now listing.
- For a break, how spots are assigned and which cards each spot receives.
- The shipping cost shown under the item’s title. In an auction, shipping and taxes are added if you win.
- Anything still unclear. Ask in the chat before you take part.
Our beginner checklist for your first Whatnot card show goes through these steps in more detail.
How live pack openings and breaks work
In a live pack opening, a host opens trading-card packs on a livestream while viewers watch and chat. Pack contents vary, so no specific card, rarity or value is promised.
On Whatnot, items in a show can be sold by auction or as Buy It Now. In an auction, buyers bid while a timer counts down, and the highest bidder when it ends wins; a bid is a commitment to buy. Buy It Now items have a fixed price and no bidding. Whatnot’s help page on bidding during a show goes further, including Max Bid.
Thinking about a break? Check two things first: what a single spot gets you, and how cards are assigned to spots. In a break, several collectors each buy a spot in one product, such as a box, case or pack. Opening starts once every spot is taken, and the break format in the listing decides which cards go to which spot, so a spot is a share of the product, never all of it. Whatnot’s guide on how to buy explains breaks alongside auctions and Buy It Now.
During a show
Ask about the cards, share the moment and treat other collectors with respect. You can watch, learn and enjoy the conversation without buying anything. If you do take part, set a spending limit before the show starts and keep shipping and taxes inside it.
Orders and questions
For an order placed on Whatnot, start from that order’s details in the Whatnot app or on whatnot.com. Whatnot’s guide to getting help with a purchase explains how to report a problem; depending on the issue, the request goes to the seller or to Whatnot Support.
